Next morning, Thursday 27th July, had a shave & loafed about. Once I was awakened by someone who turned out to be Jocelyn : he had dropped in just for a minute or two to see how I was. Fairly late in the afternoon we received orders to move & over dusty roads marched back to the wood near Warloy-Baillon where Rid had camped. I was detailed in charge of rear-guard & so rode in a motor-lorry all the way, for which I was thankful.
On Friday we moved to La Vicogne & next day to Bonneville, thence coming into our present rest billets in Pernois.
