points out the propriety of giving it a fair trial ;  Diseases of this kind are so rare here that we have few opportunities, if you will put them into the hands of some medical friend they may undergo a fair trial. The method used here is to infuse two Ounces of the Seeds bruised in two pints of Spirit, after standing three or four days the Liquor is poured off & with this the pained [joints?] are well bath'd  two or three times a day & covered with Flannel.

The Plants are all shipped & the sailing of the Providence is fixed for the 12th. Inst.
