I have the gratification to include a few specimens of Stones, Earths, a small green snake which is considered rare; and also the seeds which have been collected since my return from the Interior.

I have the satisfaction to pack in another box the collection of Birds and Quadrupeds which I mentioned to you in my letter of 9th May last in as good a state of preservation as could be expected from a first trial:

I am happy to inform you that His Excellency The Governor has been pleased to order the payment of the necessary expence attending the formation of this Collection, as well as all other charges incurred during my Tour through the Kandyan Country, which will enable me to continue my exertions; and I have no doubt, but I shall be able to procure many very valuable skins of animals hitherto unknown in England without interfering in the least with my professional duties –

Since writting the above I have great pleasure in acquainting you, that I have received through the kind interest of Lady Brownrigg from the Prince of Wales's Island six young Nutmeg and six Clove trees, all of which are in a very flourishing condition –
