A Ballad Founded on Facts
adressd to the Gentleman of Lincolnshire resident in London

1.

Ye Lorded men of Lincolnshire
of Birth & Pedigree,
Whose Fathers were True Gentlemen,
at Least of (1) one degree,
To Lincoln Hall Let us go &c.

2.

In times, like these when when sons of Sans Culottes
are daily gaining Riches
Tis fit we should enquire when
Their Father first wore breeches
To the Heralds first Let us go &c.

If those who have no ancesters
are Prone to Revolution
Some sane but well born men should guard
The British Constitution
 of the Jacobines you may know &c.

4.

In Frances Court a Butchers Son
as Emperor Presides
but he has Causd more misery
than all mankind besides
 Go abroad you may know &c.

Our sheep, our oxen Bulls & Cows
and Pigs well bred must be
Then why not take an honest Pride
in Blood & ancestry
in Leicestershire they say So

(1) as requird in the original institution of the order of Baronet that the person raisd to this honor must be descended from a grandfather who bore coat bure coat armour.
