Sydney 3th Octr 1804 Port Jackson

Dear Sir
Since my last Letter by the Albion, nothing materially has occurd. I am once more embarking on board His Majesty's Ship Buffalo for the intended Settlement at Port Dalrymple in the hopes of being more successful than our first attempt, and I think it is probable you may hear from me, by the same vessel which conveys this, as she will not sail until the end of next month.
My principal motive for writing now is to request you will do me the favor to see the bearer Mr Robert Campbell, who arrived in this Colony from Calcutta soon after my return and has been a Resident merchant ever since. He has entered with great spirit in the Fishery to the southward and will continue his speculation of sanctioned by Government; and I hope there will be little doubt of his success, when they are informed what he has already done in so short a time.
The ship Lady Barlow has on board three hundred tons of oil and sixteen thousand fur seal skins which has been collected in fifteen months; besides ten thousand skins already sent to England by the Albion. In this employ, he on an average provides for sixty persons this merit in my opinion deserves encouragement
