Sent up to get the boys out of clink. Busy with preparations for the draft the young devils are going on. Put in worrying day about them and eventually had to warn other officers for draft in their room. Late in the evening I had to give Fraser about 3 hours notice to go. Took supper with the Mathys'.
7/4/19
Up at 6 and saw our draft off. Spoke to the men before moving and expressed thanks to them. Then with bands playing and flags flying the draft moved off and looked very well. At the station met General Tivey and he spoke to the men before entrainment started. Walked along the train shaking hands with various ones till at last it steamed off the band playing Auld Lang Syne. Took a
