In my last letter by the Aurora I told you of my Dear Daughter's Husband being very ill. He gets weaker, & every day we expect will be his last - as they were inestimable to me you will feel for the distress we are in, besides my apprehension of my Daughters health - she has been a treasure to the few Gentlewomen here, and to the Dignity of Government House.
I have only to request you will by all means in your power induce government to support my measures here - let them depend on their governor, for he has only a Public Interest in asking for such a responsibility, and the only person in the Colony (except Officers for their Pay) who assists in the support of the Crown.
I am now very much fatigued and must therefore take my leave of you with most sincere good wishes to you & the Ladies being ever with the greatest regard,
My Dear Sir
Your faithful Servant
Wm Bligh
Sir Joseph Banks
