been before or SInce - and as I have been unfortunate enough, to have been obliged by my Necessities, Since I have been in London, to Subsist for Several days on bread and water, and yet Labour hard, my having found no detriment in my health; which gives me Reason to apprehend I could Struggle through hardships and difficulties as Well as others.
As my Fate, and every probable means of Supporting my Self depend entirely on my Success in this Affair, I hope Sir! it will be a Sufficient appology for the prolixity of this Epistle ; and as I know Sir, that if you Should with Your accustomed goodness interest Your Self in my behalf with Mr. Banks, I shall be sure of Success; I therefore Sir! place all my dependence in Your Support, as Your determination will render me the happyest or unhappyest man in the World, the Anxiety I feel in this Situation Sir! is better felt than described! but when I reflect on the kind assistance and condescending Favours I have allready received from Your hands, I feel a Spark of hope which enlivens my breast with the most earnest desire therefore of having it confirmed, I remain
