Fri 17th
Was out on the desert again today. but Minia was the only station we could get into communication with; The Colonel came down today & the 3 men who were the cause of the disturbance in the village a few nights ago were up before him but discharged;

Had tea with our native friends at the village on the edge of the desert when coming back to camp; 3 camels were sighted on the desert West of Nazlet-El-Abid this afternoon but they made off back into the desert when the patrol tried to approach them, & special patrols are being sent out from all villages where troops are stationed tonight in the hopes of catching them;
Boxing still booms every evening after tea.
