It is reported that we leave here (Bahnasa) next Tuesday or Wed. & are to go to Minia & that English troops are coming here to take our place, nothing out of the ordinary happens here the days & [are] rather warm to be comfortable but the nights are quite chilly, I brought the set of boxing gloves & we make use of them pretty well every evening

I heard yesterday that last week an order came to the Regt. asking for applications for Signalling Officers, Nelson was rcommended, also Traill by the Colonel. Traill is a nephew of Meredith & that accounts for his recommendation; Leask also applied & is a far better man than
