Eric Dowling was sent to Hospital this morning with mumps; We had mounted parade this morning & dismounted this afternoon; Nelson had to mark off the camps boundaries this afternoon; We have been having showery weather since we have been in Egypt this winter is much colder & wetter than last year; The patrols now go onto the ridges dismounted as it is hardly worth saddling horses to ride the few hundred yards & it is cold on the horses out all night; I believe there has been some fighting in Egypt & the Artillery from the 53rd Div. left here today
