The cold today is awful been freezing hard and a low lying mist to go with it, never felt so cold in all my life, feet hands and face were dead to all the world. The Front line is awful mud up to the thighs with a thin coating of ice on top, when you put your foot on it you go right through, there was a good distance to go too and the ice was cutting our rubber thigh boots all the while, letting the water in.
