of merely doing an outpost as we had been told, the orders were changed - we had to take up a position & "Box on" at dawn in company with the rest of the division which was being hurried out. Just at dawn I boiled a billy & made myself a cup of tea & had just drunk half of it when the turks began to shell us pretty heavily the result being that we had to run for it. Scalded my throat trying to drink the rest of my tea & then galoped away holding
