Yesterday was the third anniversary of our departure from Australia. And what remains of the first contingent here resolved to make it known
Wherewith they fared forth & bought a case of whiskey & two of beer.
I was in charge of the picket last night & so had to be careful not to drink too much. However I went along soon after the -what shall I call it - perhaps "bout" is the best, - after the bout started & thus from about 7 until 9.30 I drank neat whiskey
