I've groomed & fed the "gees" had breakfast & am now writing this at 9 a.m. & are we are expecting to move off very shortly

This is very different country to the flat Armentieres district we have just left. It is very heavily wooded, undulating with deep valleys Just like many parts of the Surrey countryside. As one Londoner said when he woke this morning – It just looked as if he was on maneouvres with his old Yeomanry.
