We understood that we were to go a few miles back for our Divisional Rest but now no one of us knows where we are bound. Dame Rumour has it that we have a train journey in front of us; we have had an overhauling of our 'gas bags', field dressings etc so I think we are bound for the Somme where our present offensive is.

Was is Estaires this morning taking a man into hospital. The place was full of the 4th Div Infantry "going up"; Marching by companies each followed by their travelling cookers, limbers, watercarts, etc. They looked a very fine body &
