I have been reading some of Kiplings articles on Submarine Warfare & to use the official phrase he continually quotes we have been "employed as requisite"

Taking supplies from our "Dump" to the various units during the morning

Night trips with cement slabs, timber wire, iron etc up to the trenches & gun pits – there is always a bit of lead flying overhead on these night trips and then there is another side of active service which one doesn't see on the cinema Film of "Life at the Front"!

Sailly is in the fire zone and the Municipal Council or its French
