frosty day with a slight fog All the trees & grass white with the frost – about 20 miles riding & alternately walking to keep warm.

The 2nd Inf Bgde who have been spelling at Vignacourt were sent on by train instead of the usual marching as there their feet are so bad through the frost & wet of the trenches

Have just heard that Montauban Railhead where we draw the supplies from was heavily shelled a few days ago & amongst other casualties Bob Kennedy, George Hyde & G Brandie of our Company were 'blesse' slight ones only;
