and our Infantry has been doing short spells spells in the Ypres trenches with longer spells in the rear billets & huts Our spell is over & we are under orders for a move in a few days

It is distinctly Autumn weather now. We have had some very wet & cold spells & during these days have been covered in mud & wet through. This is what we must expect as a regular thing during the winter & we are none of us looking forward to it to say the least. One & all of us would not be sorry to be sent to Egypt for the winter again, although we cursed
