round about here although this is quite 8 miles behind the front line & in the morning we were wakened by the machine gun of his aeroplanes playing on some road near here –

Last evening he got one of our sausage baloons & we saw it destroyed by fire while at dark he was over with his bombs & although our searchlights 'picked him up' & we saw him in their light he dived & dodged the lights
