SUNDAY - 18TH OCTOBER 14:

Church  Parade was held at Rabaul and Herbertshohe.

The Administrator requested Captain Manning, Assistance Judge Advocate General, to report on the question of utilising the  "Sumatra" as a distributing Ship in the event of the German Merchants desiring to send supplies to outlying stations.         

Mr. Lucas interviewed the Administrator with  regard to the disposal of the  "Moresby's" cargo, and the Administrator has  decided that in the event of  the Merchants refusing to take the cargo he will ask the Naval Board to delay the departure of the  "Matunga" from Sydney.

Telephonic communication has been established with the Signal Station on the Hill "Mother".

Health of the troops continues satisfactory.
