Captain Twynam, O.C. Native Constabulary, went to Herbertshohe and commenced organization of the force there. The garrison at this place had not made any arrangements for arms and ammunition to be collected from the white inhabitants. Medical officer at Herbertshohe reports the health of the troops good.
At Rabaul the Garrison Troops have matters well in hand; a few cases of looting have been reported. Government money seized at Rabaul will be handed in to Head Quarters to-morrow. Signalling communication between Rabaul and Herbertshohe has been established by way of Hill known as "Mother".
P.M.O. reports health of the troops at Rabaul excellent. Dr. George Cumming Byrne has been appointed Captain, A.M.C., vice Captain B.C.A. Pockley killed in action. The Hospitals - white and native - are well equipped and up to date. German doctors are carrying on Native Hospital for the present. Lt-Commander Browne, Naval Contingent, has been detailed to take charge of the "Sumatra" for patrolling purposes, and Lt-Commander Jackson has been appointed King's Harbour Master.
