Fifty-three (53) additional recruits were attested and passed in, making a total of 1,106.   Equipment from the Ordnance Stores and supplies began to arrive, and was issued as received.   Consideration was given to the selection of Company Officers.   Complete Medical Unit reported and commenced duty.

Captain Hercus was selected for one Machine-Gun Section and Sgt.-Major Marsden for the other.   They at once set to work to organise these Sections.

At 4-0 p.m. saw all the Officers who were applicants for Commissions with the force, and who had been allotted temporarily to Companies.

During the day the majority of the men were inoculated against typhoid, and arrangements were made to have the remainder inoculated the following day.
