Our routine at this camp is drill 6 a.m. till 9 a.m., lecture 11 till noon, and drill again from 5 till 7 p.m. After that hour we were allowed to visit Cairo & Helipolis proper a big residential suburb of Cairo and 5 minutes walk from our camp. There are some very fine buildings in this locality, especially in size and architectural design, the most imposing being the Palace Hotel containing 1400 rooms, with splendid gardens and grounds. It is called the Monte Carlo of Egypt, being built for the same purposes as places at that world famed resort. It has now been converted into a military hospital.
