my winter clothing has been irrevocably lost and I sigh for my British warm and other cherished garments to say nothing of the Medical Comforts I was bringing back with me from Egypt whither I had been sent to be mended. I refer to the "Southland" that fine 14000 tonner – perhaps you remember as the "Vaderland" on the Amsterdam New York run which was torpedoed on the 2nd inst when only 34 miles from Lemnos Island.
