WEDNESDAY   11TH NOVEMBER 1914:

At 5-26 a.m. following message was sent to Navy Office, Melbourne, in reply to telegram received on 10th inst :-
"Reply yours 9th. German Code by   "Moresby" received." Administrator."
and at 5-30 a.m. reply was also despatched to message received re coal on hand at Matupi:-
"Your 2215: About 450 tons coal at Matupi and 50 tons on hulk - Administrator."

In order to keep up the Troops' efficiency in shooting, a rifle range has been started at Rabaul, and musketry practice will be commenced shortly.

The Administrator has been pleased to approve of the following in the Naval portion of the Exped. Force:-
Lt.Commdr. R.A.N.R. to be Commander vice.  Commander J.A.H. Beresford invalided.
Lieut. R.S. Bracegirdle, R.A.N. to be Lieut. Commander vice.. Lieut. Commander F.G. Brown returned to Sydney.
Lieut. R.S. Bowen, R.A.N. to be Lieut. Commander vice.   Lieut. Commander Elwell killed in action.
Sub-Lieut. C. Webber, R.A.N.R., to be Lieut. vice Lieut.
Bracegirdle promoted.
M'man R.L. Buller, R.A.N.R. to be Sub-Lieut. vice
Sub-Lieut. Webber promoted.

Health of the Troops continues satisfactory.
