8 News of Gen Northey's Force having had an engagement somewhere near Rufige River Germans 200 casualties and lost 80 prisoners Our casualties 25 Kaiser Conferred high honor on German Commander Von Letta-Vorobeck

3rd 3rd reg left for Kilossa. I am left behind temporarily unfit

6th Saw Sive in Morogora. Sive had bad attack fever

7th Sick again myself. 8th Sick. bad dysentry

9th Saw Dr ordered to do no duty whatever and am to be examined by board first opportunity. Tin of oxo – 1 milk

10th still feeling rotten, dysentry.

11th Feeling pretty dicky still. Sgt Rabie of the 3rd buried to day "Blackwater"

Dennis came across to visit me – a batch of men passed unfit returned to day as fit

12 Visited Dennis and missed the Medical Board Bad Luck
