Friday - 27th November 1914:

The "Morinda" arrived at 7-0 a.m. and anchored in Simpson Haven. She was given a clean bill of health by the P.M.O. A mail was received, sorted and delivered to the Troops. Included in the Administrator's despatches was a letter from the Minister for Defence expressing the appreciation of the Government of the services rendered by the Force under his command.

The Administrator, and Lieut. Holmes, A.D.C., were able to get about again today. The Administrator will resume his official duties to-morrow.

The Schooner 'Palpal' proceeded to Mioko (Duke York Islands), having been sent by the Deutscher Handels Plantefugen Company for the purpose of obtaining copra.

The Troops under Lieut. Partridge who left Rabaul yesterday on a route march, returned at an early hour this morning. All the men completed the march.

The Administrator, accompanied by Lieut. Holmes, A.D.C., together with Lieut. Colonels Watson and Paton, Commander Lambton and other Officers were entertained at dinner on board the "Morinda", by Captain Hillman, Master of the Ship.

The health of the troops is satisfactory.
