GOLDEN FACTS SPEAKING FOR THEMSELVES.
MAY 1854
One hole in Ballarat yielded 3250 ounces of gold last week  The escorts from Golden Point, Franklyn, Fryers Creek & Tarrangower amounted to 3255 ounces
One hole at Ballarat yielded equally with all those gold fields
The whole Castlemain [Castlemaine] escort amounted to 9403 ounces being only two thirds more than "the one hole" yielded at the "gravel pits"

JUNE 1854. ASPECT OF THE VICTORIA DIGGINGS.

The latest news from Ballarat is most cheering - Intelligence from the Avoca represents these diggings as prosperous and the number of drays wanted to proceed thither is warranty for its truth, A party at the Gravel pits Ballarrat have devided [divided] £13,000 thirteen thousand pounds between them, the produce of one hole

M O N S T E R   N U G G E T
A monster nugget is being exhibited at Melbourne.  It was found at Mount Molliagell. The weight of it is three hundred & forty two ounces, Its length is thirteen inches, by an average Circumference of from eight and a half inches to nine inches.  About there is a small quantity of clay stone and quartz.

The Mount Alexander and Ballarat Escorts which arrived in Melbourne on the departed at the Treasury 18.876 ounces of gold brought down from  Mount Alexander, & 3849 ounces from Ballarat.
