Letter from Gibraltar Jan 3d adressd to M Miesegacy [?]

Mr Court writes from Megadon [?] that Mr. Walshe & 5 or 7 owners of Gold the property of Runchen has been returnd by the Mercier [?] ambassador, Whence he concludes that Runchen has been murdered.

a position exists among the Mercier people that their country will be conquered by the French & this is now [indecipherable] in vogue.  They therefore consider every French traveller is a French spy & are ready to murther him.
