To the Right Honorable Sir Josh. Banks

Sir

      I Beg your pardon for this liberty I have taken.  There was a Person of the Name of John Bowman about three Years Ago through Your Recommendation got A free passage to New Sowth Wales from Government as free Settler and he is found it so Much to his Satisfaction that I have Rec.d two or three letters from him Requesting Me to follow his Example.   I am his Brother and Son in law to the late Mr. McKinzie.  There was two Frindes of his that You Recomended to go Allong with him - and there is A Frinde of Mine that wishes to go allong with Me we as both of one Bisness both Cabinet Makers and hous Carpenters he his got one Child And I have two.  I understand that ther is A Shipe to sail for that place at Christmas And if You Can favor us with A Recommendation for A passage You will do us A Verry great peace of Service. 

     I will wait upon you if it is not given you two Much truble, on Towsday Morning.
