introduced for the purpose of being exhibited.  As I am utterly ignorant of the value of the Birds I wish to introduce none of the same kind, having ever before been brought to England & desirous of Paying any sum that may be judgd Proper Rather than Run the Risque which by your honors Law​ Rules I must be compelled & [indecipherable] of my birds being taken from me by persons who exhibit wild beasts & the Prospect of introducing them into this Country destroyd by confining them during their whole Lives in a Show Cart.

I also Request your honors if I can you think it necessary that I should pay duty on leaving or Pay it in London as I have no agent whom I can employ to negotiate with your honors servants at Portsmouth.
