The suspension of Mr Wilkinson from his Christian duties at NewCastle has occasion the greatest [regret?] in the whole district of Hunter's River, as it has [indecipherable] that he should have such a step should have been taken towards a man who exercised the duties of his station in the manner the most satisfactory to all [accts?]. The cause of this proceeding seems to be twofold. In the first place some disappointment with the late Archdeacon & in the other, upon an occasion where the whole of his independent [property?] was at stake & the least delay might have occasioned the [indecipherable] [indecipherable] he had made as much haste as any man would have done under similar cir-cumstances; [The?] first misunderstanding seems to have taken place from Mr [W?] having had private [indecipherable] & [indecipherable] [indecipherable] [certain?] [indecipherable] in the Church estate [indecipherable] & having had [indecipherable] to [indecipherable] them & independence to maintain the [indecipherable] [indecipherable] all others who are [indecipherable] [indecipherable]  kick against the pricks, he has [fulfilled?] & it [indecipherable] as in all similar cases power has prevailed. In regards the latter charge [indecipherable] the true state [indecipherable]  has never been [thoroughly?] known; when Mr [indecipherable] first arrived in this Colony [like?] all [indecipherable] whether Church or Layman what Capital he was [indecipherable]  of was expended in stock  [indecipherable]  of land was given to him 

to perform his clerical duties from being [indecipherable] 
he himself found that the 
both duties from [impracticable?], for a [indecipherable] made over to a [Frenchman?] where [indecipherable]  at that time were the [indecipherable]  of the whole of this [country?]
