<p>[Page 86]</p><p>Monday, 13 August 1917<br />Owing to no gunners being allowed to do duties, I had to relinquish mess orderly and go out on gun drill etc.<br />​Nothing much to record. Wrote to Lena Boyden as well as other letters in evening. Weather very showery.</p><p>Tuesday, 14 August 1917<br />The weather again very showery. In afternoon we were drafted into our batteries I being put into Number 2.<br />Met Sproggie Cameron in camp this morning and had a yarn to him.</p>
