Dear Sir

Your letter I received this morning and can only in reply to it express my deep regret that I have (quite unintentionally) caused you & been the cause of giving you so much annoyance in the matter of "James & the Store". If it had been any other man than him there would not have been any trouble.

I called at the Office of Mr James this morning about 10 o'clock. He was not to be seen. I delivered over the Keys of the Store in the presence of a Witness to the Clerk who acknowledged taking possession of the Store. I them told him I was prepared to pay the Rent
