for a time. Surely the least you ought to have done was to have sent in your a/c, & to have proposed terms new settlement of the Balance including the third Bill which falls due on 16th of this month.

To have omitted any communicating respecting the 2nd Bill not even this to have transmitted the a/c to 31st Decr is not in accordance with your your general assurances of greater punctuality, as regards all [indecipherable] of the debt, nor with what you said to me, & to Sir. W. Macarthur on two separate occasions, as before alluded.

What would you have done, had I forwarded the Bill for £201. 6. 8 for presentation at the Commercial Bank on the 17th January?
