My dear Macarthur

I enclose a letter from Mr Macdonald manager of the Union Bank at Wellington on the subject of Mr Duppa'  [indecipherable] for £231 - which it appears was not paid when due.

I have requested Mr Macdonald to ensure your instructions with regard to the future disposal of this matter and may point out to you that as I should not have taken a bill from Mr Duppa without Mr Fox's endorsement I consider that you will be quite right in looking to that gentleman for payment.

believe me
my dear Macarthur

Yours very faithfully
