Mr Ferguson may think of importing Cuttings but that is not so easy to do.  I may also tell you that the Government has none direct from Mount Pellier [Montpellier] Mr Benson imported them from California and I saw them on arrival, they are nothing like our Cuttings and may not be Phylloxera resisting.  I therefore think it worth while not to part with them at present if Mr Reedy could manage them for an other year our position would be much improved. Hoping that this will meet your views
