When I came home in 1861 I brought home Bukullah & red & white [indecipherable] which in 1862 did not seem very good but now when I come to try these 1858 wines the connoisseurs pronounce them sømething very good - The boquet of the Bukullah is first rate & the wine itself of high class.
Some of [indecipherable] wine's turn out very well & so do some of the South Australians but these later as a rule are [strong?] & too artificial.
There has been a great [indecipherable] about Dr [indecipherable who I believe is a regular humbug when giving his opinion on qualities of wines but who knows much about the vine & about the way in which the [indecipherable] is selected & I have no doubt as a Chemist can do his work very well but to judge wine you must have a delicate taste & know what knew wine
