Sydney - N.S. Wales.

Dear Sirs,
We beg to acknowledge the receipt of your favor of 1st Sept. containing particulars of 11 Cases of  Australian Wines which you have sent to us with the view of ascertaining whether they are likely to suit this Market.
The wines were landed nearly seven weeks ago, but they do not appear quite in a fit state yet to enable us to judge of them fairly.  We shall try them again when they are more settled and wait upon you with a full report. In the mean time we may say that so far as we have seen, we give the preference to Nos. 2 and 5 of the samples, especially No. 2 which we think would make a pleasant drink in the hot weather.  Not venturing to say more of the Wines at present.
We remain
Dear Sir,
Your faithful Servants
