Gibson called on me again this morning & urged me to give him a trial.  I have told him to call again for I am desirous to learn something about him, and will not entertain his application unless I am quite certain of him, that it may not be prejudicial to either you or myself.
I heard from a gentleman who had lately returned from "Manchester", that he met with some of your wine which I had forwarded there, it was spoken of very highly and was quite a topic of conversation there with Mr Hodgson's friend must be very gratifying to you and also encourages me.
