people write to me. I have no letters to answer as I have been ill with a very bad cold & cough for nearly 3 weeks after a [indecipherable] infection of the sinuses. However I am afraid if that is my excuse I am glad to say that [indecipherable] is here & I find him very little changed. He is very gentle & quiet in his manners - very good to me. He spends much of his time at [indecipherable] which I am glad of - as George will I am sure he wd know in the right way. How happy I am that you are pleased about James, and that you think all will be the better for the trip
