My dear Elizabeth

I have read your letter to Philip and must now thank you all most sincerely for you kind thought & substantial help to my dear widowed Sister it is very good of you & perhaps you do not really know how much such help is needed she will I believe from her poor husband is take have about 

I was so glad you had a fine day for the Picnic & that it went off so pleasantly for you. I read the account in the Herald & liked both the speeches very much - I was pleased to know you have the esteem & good wishes of all you care for & have had the pleasure of benefiting
