The state of our political world just now is making the country so uncomfortable & in fact driving so many respectable and independent men from it that it will not be fit to live in & all who can afford it, will I fancy, form newer homes in other parts of the world. Is it not wretched to think that Cowper & Co. should have done so much to hasten the rise of the country. I am so glad that Papa is away from Australia.
