Susan & I went to town yesterday. I have heard of a first class Cook & good woman whom I am to see today. She was living with Mrs Gilchrist. Emma has arranged with me to come here tomorrow & give Maggie a holiday for the afternoon to see her young man, this I think very good natured of her.

I am glad you got on without Bella. Mrs St John wants very much to persuade me to take her Swiss Governess Nursery Maid who speaks excellent french & is very nice!
