so good and so healthy.  I need scarcely say that it would be a pleasure to me if I could be of any service to you.

The rapidity of your passage is very different to that of a sailing ship in 1838 when I was 4 months between London and Sydney, yet we are in a progressing stage, and the passage will soon be much reduced in time, when we hope ships of the speed of the torpedo catchers to carry our mails & passengers.  In fact it seems to me that the speed is capable of much greater velocity, and the rivalry of nations wil no doubt establish greater faster ships.  This
