My dear Mrs. Onslow,

Let me thank you very much for your kind letter of the 22 April which I ought to have answered much sooner.  The fact is I have so many letters to write on business matters on the eve of the departure of the mail, that I delay replying to friendly letters.

Lady Wilson, Mrs. Gardner and her youngest daughter came
