they were liable only for what they received here - and that confirms the mode in which I have been returning my income.  Observe that your Surveyor in his letter to you uses the word "derived" which I would not adopt, but instead use the word "received" for profits derived in the Colony are not all generally received here.  In fact it is difficult to estimate ones profits in the Colonies.  My receipts are from shipments of wool and as I require to give in a Return before the end of the season I can only do so by an estimate, but in your case it is different.
