in length of staple and weight of fleece to one years growth.  No doubt feeding has a great effect on the weight & quality of the fleece, and the feeding for a part of the year does not have so much effect as feeding for the whole year, in fact the sheep should be always in high condition in order to get a first class fleece, and they should be kept sheltered from rain and extreme heat.  I have never been able to make up my flock by any artificial feeding, and therefore I have not been able to take a first class position, neither do I expect you will be able to
