eastwards the land is good and well timbered, in fact it is just the converse of the western parts, there is too much timber for grazing.  The quality of the butchers meat, excepting at Frisco, and in the eastern states was very inferior, in fact scarcely fit for human food, but the best of the American beef is far inferior to English or Australian, so Australia has nothing to dread from competition with America in the supply
